“Having worked with a wide array of athletes as well as recreational fitness enthusiasts, I would say they all have two things in common - muscle tension and stress. We live in such a fast-paced world that we become disconnected from our bodies. We tend to function on autopilot, not paying attention to our bodies, ignoring warning signs of stress and strain. The work I do helps the client become more educated and gain a new awareness and understanding of his/her body.

I feel it's important to combine many disciplines when training. By utilizing traditional fitness approaches like weight training and cardiovascular exercises and adding other disciplines like yoga, pilates, and balance, people are able to achieve a more balanced body.

In health and fitness, people should not take a ‘cookie cutter-type’ approach. Our bodies are all different and may require specific needs due to prior injury or health history. Some people are just inexperienced and need some help on form and technique. Some are highly trained athletes that need a little touch up or advice on increasing training performance. Others are apprehensive about old or nagging injuries and need to feel confident about moving again. Still others just need a jump start and motivation to get up and get moving again. Let’s evaluate where you are and what you’re coming in with and go from there. It’s all about getting started and taking that next step!

Trust, honesty, and open communication are keys to success. But don’t forget hard work! It might take time to get there, but in the end, it’s all worth it. I listen to the client and strive to provide an open, non-threatening, supportive environment. Come in open minded, ready, and willing to work!”
